PPS Develops Wireless Tactile Pressure Sensors for eSoles Insoles
Which Talk to Users' Cell Phones
In continuation of their innovative collaborations, PPS is creating miniature pressure sensors to embed seamlessly into eSoles insoles. The sensors communicate wirelessly to the user's cell phone to provide information on pressures applied by the foot in 11 different sections of the insole.
The product is initially aimed for the sports industry to help athletes analyze and improve body technique and performance by providing detailed data on foot pressures and shifts in weight. Other potential uses include medical applications for diabetics who have lost the feeling in their feet or also for rehabilitation purposes. Yet another possibility is within the interactive gaming industry.
Currently the product is in development but the buzz in the media has already begun. To read more about it, search the keywords "wireless pressure sensor insole" or click on the article link below.
