DigiTacts High Sensitivity Tactile Pressure Sensors - Overview
DigiTacts are the first high-sensitivity capacitive sensors with a digital output. Our proprietary technology lowers the cost-of-entry to high sensitivity tactile pressure sensing and allows them to be embedded in your application using a serial digital interface.
DigiTacts sensors are available in discrete or array configurations, individually or as part of an evaluation kit. These sensors are intended as a means evaluating PPS DigiTacts performance, and as a means for design engineers to accelerate the learning curve around capacitive sensors with digital output.

DigiTacts - Evaluation Kit
The DigiTacts Evaluation Kit is intended as an easy-to-use kit for evaluating PPS DigiTacts performance, and as a means for design engineers to accelerate the learning curve around capacitive tactile sensors with digital output.
The complete DigiTacts Evaluation Kit includes the following components:
- Four DigiTacts sensors, two with 20 psi. FSR (140 kPa), two with 100 psi. FSR (700 kPa)
- Rechargeable D600 interface module for USB or Bluetooth connection to PC
- USB Bluetooth adapter
- High-resolution USB webcam
- Chameleon TVR software for real-time visualization and acquisition
Evaluation sensors have four 5x5 mm sensing elements arranged in a 2x2 array pattern. Sensor output can be saved and played back at anytime within the Chameleon TVR software or exported in ASCII format for additional analysis.
Custom Capabilities
 The DigiTacts technology line offers one of our most versatile offerings for tactile sensing. With its minimal circuitry and embedded microcontroller, DigiTacts-based systems can function as intelligent peripherals or control a complete device.
Custom DigiTacts-based sensors are sensitive enough to capture pulse waveforms without any signal conditioning and are rugged enough to be used as process monitors in a mass production environment. Multiple units can be combined to
cover larger areas with denser spatial resolution.
