FingerTPS - Overview
FingerTPS, which stands for Fingertip Tactile Pressure System, is a breakthrough that allows researchers and design engineers to understand how humans interact with machines, objects and general environment like never before. The FingerTPS system is designed to be worn on a person's fingertips and palm, and to measure the pressures exerted while the person uses a tool or performs some other action. The sensors and wire harness do not impede object manipulation by the user.
The FingerTPS system provides:
- Valuable insight regarding tactile pressure, quality of grasp (coupling), ease of use, fatigue, human performance, etc.
- Invaluable real-time visual feedback of pressure data.
- Quantitative results
- Valuable data for NIOSH, Snook, ACGIH, etc.
- Ease of use
